 A Journey of Learning and Togetherness: Ekathalam Community Living Camp

The Ekathalam Community Living Camp was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, adventure, and bonding. Over four days, I had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, engaging in activities that strengthened teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility. From inspiring sessions to outdoor adventures, every moment was enriching. Here’s a glimpse into this incredible journey!

Day 1: A Warm Welcome & New Beginnings



The camp officially started with an inaugural ceremony, graced by Bindu Krishna (AICC member), former Institution Chairman Abdul Rashid, and our Principal. The presence of faculty, students, and staff made the event even more special.

One of the highlights of the day was the kitchen inauguration, marking the beginning of our self-sufficient community life. The rest of the day was filled with ice-breaking activities, celebrations, and interactive sessions, helping everyone get comfortable and excited for the days ahead.

As night fell, we held our first Parliament session, where we discussed our schedule, responsibilities, and expectations—setting the tone for a well-organized and fulfilling camp experience.

Day 2: Learning, Creativity & Festivities



Our day began on a refreshing note with an early morning Yoga session at 6:00 AM, led by our Physical Education teacher. This set a positive and energized mood for the day ahead, which was packed with insightful sessions.

📚 Workshops & Talks:

  • Art & Aesthetic Development by Mrs. Divya Devaki (Dramaturgy Expert, Sri Sankara University).
  • Fire & Safety Awareness session, equipping us with essential safety knowledge.
  • A motivational talk by Mullakkara Radhakrishnan, inspiring us to embrace growth and change.
  • A powerful Motivational Session by Abu Palazhi, encouraging us to push our limits and believe in ourselves.

🎉 Evening Highlights:

  • Christmas Carols filled the air with festive joy, bringing warmth to the camp.
  • Campfire Night—a magical evening of music, fun, and bonding under the stars.
  • Parliament Session to review the day’s events and reflect on our learnings.

Day 3: Adventure & Exploration

This was the most exciting and adventurous day of the camp!

🌄 Nature Expedition:

  • We started our journey at 5:30 AM, heading towards Illikkal Kallu, a breathtaking hilltop destination. Watching the sunrise from this spot was an unforgettable experience.
  • After a refreshing lunch break, we continued our exploration, visiting Kattikayam Waterfalls and Ilaveezha Poonchira, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature.
  • By 6:30 PM, we began our return journey, reaching back at 11:00 PM, exhausted but filled with wonderful memories.

Day 4: Creativity, Celebration & Goodbyes



The final day of the camp was a mix of learning, creativity, and heartfelt farewells.

💡 Workshops & Activities:

  • A Zumba workshop by Mr. Nikhil, Super Dancer title winner, which was an absolute blast!
  • An Innovative Teaching Methods session by Magic Vishwakarma, where we explored how magic and creativity can make classroom teaching more engaging.

🎓 Closing Ceremony:

  • Faculty members and our Principal shared their reflections, making us realize how much we had learned and grown over the past few days.
  • A special lunch was arranged to celebrate the success of the camp.
  • Financial reports were presented, giving us insight into the management side of organizing such an event.
  • The camp ended on a sweet note with Christmas cake-cutting and final reflections before departure at 4:30 PM.

Final Thoughts: A Journey to Cherish Forever

The Ekathalam Community Living Camp was more than just an event—it was a journey of self-discovery, learning, and togetherness. Through workshops, outdoor adventures, and cultural activities, I learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, and adaptability. The friendships formed, lessons learned, and memories made will always hold a special place in my heart.

As I look back, I realize how these four days shaped me into a more confident and socially responsible individual. This experience reaffirmed my belief in the power of collaboration, creativity, and community living—lessons that will stay with me for a lifetime. 💫
